What is Swit Music?

The Project

Swit Music is a Swedish-Italian music project with aim to bring Swedish and Italian musicians and other creative people together in order to produce a compilation CD, organize four concerts and document the project. The idea is to increase the understanding between young people in different countries, give the members experience and skills in managing international cooperation projects and create new networks across the borders by working together with something creative.

The project is purely non-profit and funded mainly with support from the European Commission's Programme "Youth in Action" (sub-action 1.2 "Youth Initiative"). Click here for more information. Members

There are 16 members, aged 21-30, directly participating in the project, 8 living in Sweden and 8 in Italy. Everyone participates in accordance to their special interests and time available, many are musicians, others organizers, photographers and graphic designers. Music

The musicians have a wide variety of influences and backgrounds, all from jazz, rock, reggae, blues, electronic and classical music. Some are self-learned others have several degrees from different music academies. All songs on the CD are written by members. The new recordings and the CD will be ready in the end of 2008, in the meanwhile we have put some home-recordings online. To hear the samples click on music.
